Meal Planning Subscriptions

This year, I'm really pushing myself to plan out our menu every week & FOLLOW it.  We eat so much healthier when I use my meal planner and I spend less on groceries & take-out. Some common objections to meal planning are:

  1. I don't want to eat the same thing every week.
  2. I don't have time to look for recipes.
  3. I always forget something at the store.

With a meal planning service, you don't have to worry about any of that!  They do everything for you & even provide you with a shopping list.  Over the next few weeks I will continue to add to the list of meal planning subscriptions, many of which offer a free trial or sample plan to try out!

Emeals is probably the most comprehensive & customizable of all the meal planning services I've seen.  You choose your family size, eating style, and preferred grocery store.  The basic plan is for dinner only, but you can add breakfast and/or lunch for a small fee. We are trying the “Natural & Organic Family Plan” and the “Healthy Breakfast Plan” right now, but you can change your plan once a month!

Eat Well Meal Plans offers a FREE 90-day trial! Each week, you can save or print the PDF with the new weeks recipes & shopping list.  I'm not a fan of how the shopping list is laid out, but I use Out Of Milk for my shopping list anyway.

Healthful Pursuits sends out a menu every Tuesday for $15/month. Check out the website for a free sample plan. This one would work best if you only need help filling in a few days, as she only provides 3 days worth of meals and snacks.

Meals by the Week offers a 7-day trial and customizes your meal plan to your grocery store, helping you make the most of your local sales.

The Fresh 20 has three different plans: Classic, Vegetarian, and Gluten-Free. All 3 have no preservatives, processed foods, or frozen ingredients. Their site also has a list of the Pantry 20 – 20 must-have ingredients to keep on hand. You can sign up for a annual plan ($49 with access to the archives) or a 3-month membership for $15. I recommend trying a sample plan first and then going with the annual plan to save more.

Deliciously Organic is another meal plan that boast no processed foods & provides a pantry list (24 ingredients commonly used in their meals) for you to keep stocked. For $12.99/month, you can have access to their Classic, Grain-free, Gluten-free, and Paleo meal plans!

No Plan Meal Plan is available for $8.98 a month. The unique aspect of this plan is their On-Track Planner that has tips to help you consolidate all your prep work for the week.

Relish is $7 a month & you can choose kid-friendly, vegetarian, simple-gourmet, or freezer meals. All recipes are designed to be made in 30 minutes of less, helping you save time & energy in the kitchen!
